My neighbours prefer small winged vehicles that carry sick people and beat the air into submission. My condo is maybe 30 feet from the landing path and directly under the path the helis take if they have to circle the pad for a little bit before landing.

My neighbors used to have the same kind of vehicles. They traded their C-5’s for C-17’s a few years ago and things have been much quieter around here since.

That is my folks... they moved next to a navy back up field used for Growler, super hornet, Poseidon, etc, touch and goes then complain about the noise...

There’s some guy here in NE Portland who took out a line of credit against his house to put up billboards demanding the Port of Portland to stop allowing the Portland ANG to fly F-15s out of the PDX airport. because the noise bothers him. Judging by the petition that’s been up for around 6 weeks, the noise bothers somewhere around a whopping 670 people.

The Portland ANG base has been there for 78 years.

Methinks hipster boy bought property in a shitty neighborhood hoping for a return on gentrification and it isn’t panning out.

I should also point out that this campaign kicked off about a week before flying hours were drastically throttled back from 20-ish sorties/day to between 2 and 4. I assume he probably attributes this to his temper tantrum.

I was being a bit sarcastic... In the Air Force aircraft maintenance world, C-5s have gained a reputation for being a bit unreliable. While FMC might mean “Fully Mission Capable” for most military aircraft, it means “Firmly Mounted on Concrete” for others.
